Anaphylaxis Training

Anaphylaxis Training

Anaphylaxis is a rapidly developing and potentially life-threatening emergency requiring prompt recognition and treatment. This practical course provides delegates with the knowledge, decision-making skills and confidence required to recognise and manage a patient presenting with anaphylaxis.

The course covers the underlying physiology of anaphylaxis and the clinical features that should prompt immediate treatment. Delegates will also explore the different methods of adrenaline administration, including the advantages and limitations of adrenaline auto-injectors compared with drawing up adrenaline from an ampoule.

Practical training includes:

  • Recognition and assessment of anaphylaxis
  • Understanding the underlying physiology
  • Appropriate use of adrenaline
  • Practical use of adrenaline auto-injectors
  • Opening adrenaline ampoules safely
  • Drawing up medication from an ampoule
  • Practical IM medication administration

The course combines evidence-based teaching with hands-on practice, helping delegates develop the confidence to recognise anaphylaxis and act promptly in a real emergency.
